Dan - Any idea where I can get a new base connector? I did manage to find a work-around by inserting a piece of cork, thick enough to create a wedge between the cable connector and the bottom of the computer and wrapped in electrical tape. Unfortunately, the new fan was a dud so I’m temporarily using the (dying) old one while waiting for a new one to arrive. I presume it’s better to actually replace the base connector than relying on the cork wedge.
@arna the fan connectors should be readily available. Let us know what exact model your MBA is so we can help you find a replacement. It does require some soldering but it is not that difficult, unless you tore the pads or traces off the board.
