I lost the airport antenna spring on my 2007 Mac Mini when I replaced the hard drive and memory cards.
Don’t worry, you will be OK. It isn’t really necescery for critical functions of the MM, it’s just there for convenience. I lost my MM’s spring while I was replacing my MM’s HDD and have had no side effects or problems.
