My iphone 7 has been acting up. The siri doesn’t work, I cannot take voice memos and when I record videos, it doesn’t record sound with it. I haven’t narrowed the problem down to the tiny mic on the back of the phone in between the camera and flash unit, however, I cannot find a replacement. Any suggestions?
if i’m not mistaken, the microphone is part of the lightning connector assembly. what you are referring to sounds like the earpiece speaker. however, my knowledge is around advanced hobbyist/technician level as opposed to engineer, so you may need to do some additional research. that said, you can get the lightning connector/charger board assembly here on ifixit, on ebay or amazon. if you look at the iphone 7 lightning connector assembly part in the iFixit shop, it includes the descriptionPART ASSEMBLY INCLUDES Lightning ConnectorCellular AntennaDual Microphones
Thank you for your response! I actually discovered the problem last night. The iPhone 7 went through a weird stage after iOS 14. All mic functions wouldn’t work. After hard resetting and eventually factory resetting I got the mic stuff to work. Thanks again!
