When removing a ribbon cable from the motherboard, you have to pry up on a tiny little hinge (usually grey). After removing/reinstalling the ribbon cable a few times, the little hinge popped out. I almost had it popped back into the motherboard side of the connector, then it broke. Does anyone know where I can buy a few of these (in case I break another one)? If anyone has a dead motherboard, I could scavenge these parts from it. Thanks, Colin

try ebay, search for dysfunctional units after i.e. water damage or sort using max price ie 10USD. otherwise try to fixate the ribbon cable differently - good adhesive tape ?

You will have to find a donor board and pull them off, but honestly you don’t need that clip. You can use double sided tape under the ribbon cable near the connector. Make sure the ribbon cable is completley in the connector and tape it using the double sided tape. Then use tape that is heat resistant like Kapton tape or electrical tape and tape it down. Some people use super glue as well but I wouldn’t recommend that. I have had to do this a couple times and I have never had a problem with it.
