Hello Jonathon, you have a damaged or incomplete screen (with no heat shield). Is this an aftermarket replacement from China? You have to open the phone, check and possibly fill in the gaps. The cost of a part should not exceed a few dollars. If you have a friendly repair shop, you can ask for one - they are usually destroyed together with faulted or broken screens. Alternatively, you can always replace the screen with a new one - with the cover already screwed in. It could also be a symptom of faulty electronics in the screen itself.
