My old Macbook pro is no longer eligible for the keyboard repair program, but the keyboard annoys the !&&* out of me. The battery is also starting to show it’s age - I’d say about 50% life left. It’s well used and shows some wear, but it’d be a shame to call it salvage as it is the i7/16gb/2TB/Radeon Pro 460 model. What should I do with this machine? I was offered $500 for it as is.I could buy a top case assembly from iFixit (I’m unsure of the battery quality/longevity it would have)Watch ebay for a matching mac with a failed logic board - hope it comes cheap!Throw it up on ebay and hope for the best???? I have a work laptop, so I don’t need to repair it urgently, but with the Apple Silicon released, this thing is just going to depreciate faster and I don’t want to just sit on it if I’m not going to use it. I don’t have a preference of selling and saving for an M1 vs repairing to use it for another year or so.
