I’m going to upgrade my Ideapad Gaming 3 and was wondering what side of the motherboard is the default SSD is located and the size of the default drive.
It took some digging, though I would confirm the exact model number before you take my research for certain, but based on some cross referencing between the Lenovo Service Manual and the parts lookup site it looks like it takes an m.2 PCIe 2242 type drive.As for which side of the board it’s on, even the Service manual doesn’t specifysince I suspect there is some variance in configurations and 2242 is fairly small, though I would wager based on the images in the guide, it’s on the right side if you’re looking at the bottom of laptop, with the hinge facing up.
