I have a problem with the back light of my iPad, so upon opening the device I immediately noticed that there was a short in the area that I’m marking, even on the shield it shows burn marks, so my question is do I need to change the coil (clearly it is burnt) only or there are other diodes I need to change? If so is there any way I can test them to see if they are working as they should? Thanks in advance!

Looks like water damage–see the cap in the corner. The only way to get this kind of extreme damage is from a short to ground on the backlight line–find out if you have a short to ground on that line using your multimeter. Figure out the cause of the short to ground –likely a bad cap–then relieve the short. You’ll likely have to rebuild the backlight circuit. You can find lots of videos showing you how to measure your diodes etc. I have a few on my YouTube Channel–iPad Rehab–that might be helpful although none are for this particular version of iPad–this is an unusual fault.
