Chosen Solution
I left my Xbox on all night by accedent and now when it starts up it gives me a gray screen and my controller won’t work either.when it gives me the option to restart my controller stopes working and won’t let me choose the option to restart. I’ve tried a manual restart by holding the power button but it’s still not working. Was keeping it on all night the reason for this or is it something else because I have no clue
It may have overheated while it was left on causing damage to some of the components inside. You may able to repair some of this by disassembling it, cleaning, and re-pasting the CPU cooler in hopes nothing fried, but most likely the board is damaged. Best of luck!
