What’s this cable for? I accidentally separated the black cable from a metal plate that’s sticking to the screen, i tried to pry the cable but my pry tool somehow went in between the plate and the cable causing a portion of it separating, will this affect my touch id? And is this plate important? Or just a plate to keep the ribbon cable down? Update (10/07/2019)
This is the exact plate, the corner is slightly separated from the ribbon cable, it’s not torn or anything, the adhesive is just loose. Should i be concerned???
willarth.sopa sure looks like a torn home button cable. Not to many people that I know can actually repair this cable. You would be looking at a replacement home button but “note that only the phone’s original home button assembly will be capable of using the Touch ID functionality. Installing a new home button will only restore ordinary home button functions, not the Touch ID features.” from [iPhone 6 Home Button Replacement |here]
Replacement screen try again
