I have this water damaged switch, I cleaned all corrosion with toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, there doesn’t seem to be any shorts any where else but here and I’m not sure what chip or part of the board is causing this. Any help would be great Red = shorted to ground Blue = no reaction to ground
(Bottom of board under heat sink)
Based on their proximity to the shield where the heat sink connects, those components are likely part of the power rails for the CPU or GPU. That would make them low resistance lines. Check their resistance to ground in ohms rather than using diode mode, or relying on beeps. It is a common mistake Where was the liquid damage before you cleaned it up? That’s most likely to be where your problem is. I generally take pictures, or make note of those areas before I clean it up, so I can examine those areas after the fact.
