Hi, Hopefully somebody can enlighten me as I’m useless with technology. I have just noticed the band around my macbook pro screen is coming away and was wondering what is was, how I can get it fixed and how much it is going to cost me? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks Charlie
That is the gasket seal which surrounds the display. It can be replaced but its something someone who’s done it a few times should tackle as its very easy to damage the screen. Just to scare you a bit review this teardown MacBook Pro Retina Display Teardown to discourage you from attempting it, look at Step 6.
