I see the MBP15’-2011 teardown does not include the webcam chip behind the LCD display. What is the chip for that? (I am guessing this will be different from the previous generation low resolution chipset.)
It’s under warranty, don’t touch it. Return it to Apple for a free warranty repair. Here’s how to contact Apple worldwide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 If you’re not close to a store or a ASP they’ll send you a box. Total time is usually 4 days from your first call.
The isight camera of my MBA mid-2011 stopped working after I upgraded to Mountain Lion some months ago. Since then, I have tried everything possible and read all recommendations, all to no avail. I really believe the isight camera is dead. Warranty period is long gone. I really want to replace the isight camera, please help me explain how I can do this. Thanks.
