Chosen Solution
I alt-tabbed out of a game and the panel just spontaneously cracked on the left side. A very localised spot also melted which when I touched it was scorching hot and burnt my finger. The monitor also now rapidly flickers. What could have caused this?
@hackenbacker could be some stress (pressure or movement) on the monitor as well as manufacturing defect etc. This damage is most likely not covered under any warranty but it never hurts to ask. Call Acer in your country (number will be in the user manual ) and see what they have to tell you. Otherwise not much you can do but to replace the panel, if you c an find a replacement
