Chosen Solution

I have owned this TV (LG 42LD520) since about 2011. I have never had any issues with it whatsoever despite it being a floor model from Best Buy. About a month ago, on the right side of the screen I started getting randomly a few lines appearing then they would go away. After a few weeks of this it got progressively worse, until its current state right now; which is half of the screen shows colored lines, mostly horizontal but sometimes vertical as well. After doing some research I decided to open it up and check some of the common things. It does not appear to have any leaking or burst capacitors. The LVDS cables appear to be in tact. Jiggling one of them does make it worse and or change, and totally removing it makes that part of the screen white. So I’m not sure if it could be as simple as the cable, or if the whole LCD is shot. I was reading it may be the time control board, but as far as I can tell, I’m not sure if this model has one. I even reversed the cables and I got the same issue, where the same part of the screen showed the same lines even with cables totally switched. So I had the left cable in the right headers and the right cable in the left headers. I have an electronic volt meter but I’m not really sure what to check for or what else to check. I am a programmer not an electrician / engineer lol. Thanks for any input guys! I am likely going to replace this tv, but would feel bad if the fix was something affordable that I could do myself.

UPDATE (here are more detailed pictures of my main and power board.)

@nsanders90 could be a timing (T-con board) issue as well as a bad panel. I would start by removing the back of your TV and check the boards for obvious damage. Post some good pictures of the boards with your question.
