Hello. I spilled water on my macbook and got the basic liquid cleaning done by a local service. However that didn’t resolve the problem, since my display on my macbook stopped working after the water damage. The apple logo isn’t lightning up as well. The macbook works completely fine connected via HDMI and all GPU and CPU benchmarks were normal. The LCD itself seems to be working, since if I light on it with a flashlight i can clearly see every pixel. I gave the notebook to my technician friend who repairs small electronics, he changed the LCD Flex cable, which didn’t help to get the Retina backlight to start working. He took a picture of a completely fried chip that is as he says 15mm from the LCD hinge or something like that. I am including a picture. He has got the equipment needed to change just this part, but he needs the description of the fuse/chip/connector to know where and what to order. Thanks for any replies guys.
Picture of the part
maxatomas not sure what you are referring to in your picture. The connector is for the keyboard backlight cable. It is a AA07A-S010-VA1 connector and Apple part number is 516S0899. It will not be easy to source it
