Hi so about a week ago my dad gave me his phone because he upgraded. Problem was his home button didn’t work. I forgot to go into settings and add assistive touch. So when I restarted the phone and decided to back it up it brought me to an upgrade screen. The problem was that the screen asks you to tap your home button to upgrade and I can’t do it since its broken. I’ve already tried restarting the phone but nothing works. I bought a button but it’s gonna take a while since it’s coming from overseas. If any info could be provided I would gladly appreciate it.

iTunes probably wont let you enable assistive touch while the phone is plugged in as it’ll ask to trust computer (since it says press home to upgrade this is not a phone that has just been restored). Replacement home buttons don’t work so you’ll either need to restore the phone (wipes all data on it) then enable assistive touch via iTunes. Or get the screen replaced by apple which also fixes the home button problem, they replace both in one go. I would personally go for the apple screen replacement, can’t stand using a phone without a working home button.
