Chosen Solution

I have recently (accidentally) scraped my Lg g watch r against a wall. A lot of the black paint has come off the bezel and in parts it has gone down to metal. How can I get this fixed? All it needs is some paint. There is no actual physical damage, just the fact that in places the paint has come off. I’ve spoken to LG and offered to pay for it, but it’s not something their repair team can do.

The colour on the watch is not a paint, but oxidising or bluing. So if you scratched it, it is imposible to restore this, unless you will take it apart and repeat all the oxidation process. On other hand there are ways to cover that up. I’d recommend to try black nail polish or, so called, gel polish (requires UV lamp). They are available in gloss and matt. You probably would need to restore it from time to time, but it will last longer than any conventional paint.

Just get a roaterty tool and sand off all the paint and polish it what you have left is the exposed beautiful stainless steel.

If the finish is oxidized or DLC, you can dismantle it and take it to a gunsmith. A capable gunsmith can take off some or all of the finish and redo the blueing. Or you can send it to International Watch Works in Cary , NC, they are renown for doing DLC coating on fine watches. It’s not cheap, probably more than the cost of a replacement watch. If these aren’t appealing, I think the DIY options presented here are your next bet. This watch won’t last forever anyway, so I would think a frugal method of repair is best.

I use a fine-tipped black permanent marker pen (one that says it can be used on metal) … you might have to go over the scratches a few times to hide them … very cheap, but quite effective
