Having had this device for only 3 years and now, nothing. Replaced the battery, went through every keystroke combination, and every other simple fix - nothing.
There is always some clue before failure. Did you bang or drop the system? Did you have a liquid spill at some pointing into the keyboard or trackpad? It could have been a year ago! I would start by opening the system and inspect things using the IFIXIT guide pictures compare your system do they look the same? Do you see something damaged or missing?
