its a long story but my macbook air ended up in the lake for like 15 sec. it was closed at the time of exposure. but when i closed it i did not power it down all the way i did not open it for about 3 hrs or so as i was afraid it would generate power and fry it. its now been on top of the fan for about 8 hrs please help im freaking out
I’m not sure if you can save the system as it’s likely been sitting to long with the battery inside. At this point you’ll need to completely disassemble the system to get to the water still inside cleaning it up. You may want to find someone with the skills & tools to open the system to ry to safe it in the mean time if you can take the battery out! And leave the system as cool as you can (don’t freeze) until you can get to someone. You still have a chance in saving your data! You’ll need to open the system and carefully remove the SSD drive. Then you should be able to wash it off with distilled water and using a toothbrush carefully scrub any corrosion off. Just be careful! As you can pop some of the smaller SMT components off which will kill the drive. MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 SSD Replacement
