About a six year old Admiral washer, if I run a full cycle, it spins, but only on low. Same if I select “rinse/spin” on the dial, it seems to skip the high spin. I’ve checked for any obstructions by fully removing the agitator, cleaning the tub, checking all hoses, checking the drive belt, and even removing and reinstalling the pump. It is throwing back the error codes for unable to reach target RPM (F7E7) and basket speed fault (F7E1). What’s sort of strange (to me anyway, I’m no expert), is that when I try to run the manual test for low spin and high spin, the machine won’t do anything, despite spinning on low during a normal cycle (the heavy agitation test works just fine). I’ve checked and reinserted all wires underneath the machine to the motor, capacitor, shift actuator, etc, and then ran a calibration afterwards. I’ve also checked the control board and all wires seem to be connected. Based on my research, it seems like this could be the shift actuator, but I’m not 100% confident. We’re getting ready to move and already have to buy a new dryer, so I don’t really want to sink any more money beyond an actuator into it, if there’s any chance that isn’t the problem. Any advice on further testing I can do? The service manual talks about testing the control panel connectors and testing with an ohmmeter, but I’m a bit unclear on how’s that gonna isolate the problem any further. Thanks in advance!
T. Grimes looks like this could be either your control board or your actuator. Check on the error codes and which separate tests to run for the individual components. Like For example, F7E1 you would need to check test 3a Drive System Shifter. See if you can narrow it down with that Admiral ATW4676BQ1 And Others Tech Sheet Sad part is that the F7E1 was a known error and trouble spot even as far back as 2013.
