Hello All I’m having a weird problem with this motherboard and I can’t find the answers anywhere. This MB had a liquid damage and I managed to fix it, the computer was running fine until I noticed that when I plug in the charger the machine turn itself on even when the lid is closed. So I started the investigation and I found two resistor with weird resistance readings. The resistor are the R7011 and R7010 which are 9.31K and 30.1K but I’m getting 8k and 17k when I measure them. I have replaced them with brand new ones and the resistance still the same on both. I have removed some of the capacitors that are connected on the same line to see if there is any short and the weird readings still same. Then comes the crazy part, if I remove one of them then the resistance of the one left on the board became normal… Also I have other board which is working and the measures on those resistors are normal. Does anyone have a clue of what’s going on?
Regards
When resistors are in parallel with other resistances the measurement will be lower. This is normal, resistors usually fail by increasing in resistance. I think you’re on the wrong circuit entirely here the resistors you mentioned are next to the ISL6259 which is for power and charging. the signal responsible for the detection of the screen being closed is SMC_LID try following that signal around see if it might not be going through the hall sensor or if something else is wrong.
