My mom recently broke her iphone 8 and decided to get a new one and I fixed the 8 and am now using it as my main driver. The phone had severe water damage and I have since replaced the screen, but water still remains within the actual camera lense on the rear part of the phone. I have taken the camera out and tried drying it with a hair dryer, but the water remains. Is there any way to fix it? Or to buy a new camera?

If the glass lens visually looks clean on both the camera and the glass on the iPhone then the rear camera will need to be replaced. You could try blowing some hot air on the rear camera with a hair dryer for a few seconds and see if that helps.

If trying the dry the component with the hair dryer didn’t work then it may mean you just need to replace the rear facing camera module. You could try using some isopropyl alcohol (at least 91%) to see if that will displace the water then use the hair dryer again to evaporate the alcohol.
