hello, i will keep it short, my little sister spilled small amount of water on my mac and initially there was loud fan sound. We let it dry for 2 weeks and at that point fan back to normal. It powers up and seems to work fine on power/charger but does not recognize battery. Have reformatted hard drive and reinstalled OS, but still working only with charger plugged in, i used my life savings on this laptop for my designing school and I’m still a student on a budget and can’t afford to fix it at apple store, what should I do? please help thank you in advance
Do you feel comfortable taking it apart? If so, find some isopropyl alchohol and use a qtip to clean on every piece of corroded stuff. If that doesnt work, you may have to replace the battery
Sounds like a faulty battery, sadly ifixit doesn’t sell this model’s battery, nor can I find a replace meant online. If I were you I would find a cheap, dead unit for dirt cheap and salvage the battery out of that
