Hello I have accidentally spilled some water on my old MBP. Me the idiot guy trying to save the situation instantly shut it down unplugged the power adapter opened it up and blew it dry from the inside out. Sadly i found out that few of my keys stoped working. Well at least the motherboard is ok and my MBP still works so that’s kind of a win. The only damage took was in the keyboard itself so i took upon myself to replace it. I bought one online checked the forum here and replaced it. Thank you for that btw :) Well here comes the puzzling part for me now. The same keys are not working with the new keyboard. The exact same keys :0 . So even if the new keyboard was defective there is little to no chance that it would be the same exact keys as my old one. Now im thinking motherboard connector or motherboard it self… I dont know what to think at this point and could use some expert advice
Which keys aren’t working? The signal from the keyboard goes through the connector, then to the keyboard IC (left of keyboard connector). If a diagonal row of keys aren’t working, check the keyboard connector pins, the pins on this IC and the traces between these. If left shift, left ctrl and left alt aren’t working, check the 2 chips to the top right area of the keyboard IC (with the capacitors underneath them), since they deal with these keys. This will definitely be a logic board issue if the same keys aren’t working, so you’ll need to find a repairer or repair it yourself (if you are comfortable doing this).
