Hi! I just spilled about a little less than half a solo cup of seltzer on my MacBook. The computer was sitting opened. It has a keyboard cover on. I immediately flipped it upside down and the keys did not appear to be wet. I checked to see if it worked, and it was working completely normally. I now have it turned off upside down in a teepee position with a fan blowing on it. This occurred at 11 PM on Tuesday and I have two finals on Friday and I would like the computer to work by then. Do you have any advice as to when to turn it back on or what to do besides the measures I have already taken? Thanks in advance!
Hi if after the measure you took didn’t work I would get a big enough plastic box for the computer and fill with rice and place your laptop in the rice and wait 12 hours if that does not work then go to a IT fix place near you.
This is a real gamble! Did you get all of the seltzer water out before it found its way deeper into your system than the keyboard and if your efforts in drying it out got the rest to evaporate out. If you believe you may haven not then you do need to open the system to inspect things. Do you have access to the needed tools? Or you’ll need to find your way to someone who has the tools and skills to clean things up
