I have an iPhone SE that was liquid damaged, and I took the logic board out and cleaned it with 99% isopropyl alcohol a few times (following this guide: iPhone Liquid Damage Repair.) The phone works fine, but the EMI shield above the SIM card slot gets noticeably hot by the time it finishes booting up. I have not de-soldered the EMI shield. Any suggestions?
I know that are can get warm when it boots up. Whenever it comes to liquid damage you do want to inspect the entire board, including under those shields. I would just let it sit for about 10 minutes after boot up to see if that heat goes away. If it shuts off or stays hot, that’s when I would check under those shields.
