My iPhone 5s went through the washing machine, I took it to a repair shop and they told me everything was fine just the screen wasn’t working . So I payed $200 to have it replaced when I went to pick it up the phone seemed to be working fine tho the fingerprint isn’t working on it now. Also when I left I noticed it was only running on 3G it worked for 2hrs then when I got home i put it on charge ,now I have no service at all i have tried everything turning it off n rebooting it , turning the mobile data off then back on again. Please help as i have no other phone and have spent all my $$$ on replacing the screen. I’m a struggling single mum and no nothing about the parts n inside details of the phone !!!

I doubt wthat they even water damage cleaned it just stuck a screen on it and give it back not even testing it I would return to the store and see what they can do and if they can’t get it going again at least get your money back as have them take the screen back.. You could pay $200 with apple and get a sprank new phone when the other is traded in

Hi Oh wow, you got ripped off big time. I only charge $80 for my water damage services and half of that if I cannot get certain components to work. I recently revived a 5S not too long ago and i did a great job with it. But anyways, the touch id sensor could have been shorted out from the water damage or the repair shop you took it to did a very poor job with installing the sensor. The broadcom LTE modem chip or the array of RF chips on your logic board could have been shorted out from the water damage or the repair shop did not professionally clean the board by taking off the EMI shields and clean it via a high concentration of isopropyl rubbing alcohol or ultra sonic cleaner. Of course if you are desperate to have your phone working again, just talk to me and i could lead you in the right direction. With $200, you could have bought a refurbished 5S from Apple. Best of luck

The only thing I can rly think of that would help would be to take it back to the repair shop and see if they will give you your money back or offer you a deal to complete restore the I phone. There is not much you can do to fix it yourself. I too have done this with an I phone 5s and I’m in the process of trying to repair it myself. It is very hard to do with little to no experience and there is a greater chance of breaking the phone even more. Best bet is to just get a new one or try and get it refurbished
