Hi, Dropped my phone in the water right at the shore and picked it back up. It was working and I went home to update and it bricked the phone. Did a DFU mode and I got 4013 error. The flood illuminator sensor seems to be damaged(apple logo loop) and my screen was flickering so I removed the screen and flex cable for the flood illuminator. 5 days later the screen is working okay with some minor issues like sometimes the 1 button on the keyboard takes multiple tries to press. I ordered a new screen before I checked my original screen. Should I swap in the new screen or refund it? Also I wont be able to have face ID which is no biggie. Will probably swap in the flood illuminator once my new flex cable sensors come in. Should I keep the original screen or no?
The problem with a phone that has water damage is you never know when it will quit. I would get your data off the phone as soon as possible. Once they are wet they start to corrode and it gets worse if electricity is going through it. You need to see if it got wet on the motherboard. You need to pull the board out and split it and check it out and see if there is any corrosion. I personally wouldn’t trust it and would get your important data off of it as soon as possible.
