My washer will fill with water and spin out water but will not agitate. When clothes are inside, the water washer won’t spin and water won’t drain. Makes a humming noise during agitator cycle. Lid switch is fine and agitator dogs look ok.
Hi, Bit confused when you say “….fill with water and spin out water…” and then say “….water won’t drain.” If the water is being pumped out OK but the agitator doesn’t move during the wash or spin cycle and the motor just hums it could be either the motor start capacitor -part #20 Controls and rear panel or the washer motor coupling -part #13 brake clutch and gear is faulty Find the location of these parts from here. To test the capacitor, disconnect the power from the machine and then disconnect the wires from the capacitor and then connect an Ohmmeter across the capacitor terminals. There should be a reading that then slowly changes. Reverse the meter leads and it should do this again. If the meter registers no change then the capacitor is faulty.
