My washer stops at rinse cycle. Water is drained properly after wash cycle but the washer just shuts itself off after, no hum, no noise. It only works when I manually turn the knob to the spin cycle. The cold water line works because I always wash on cold/cold. The drain hose also works and doesn’t have any overflow issue. What would be the problem?
Hi, Does it also do this when either the Permanent Press or the Delicates wash cycle options are selected? It sounds as though there may be a problem with the timer in the washer part #8 -Control Panel parts diagram. The timer is an electro-mechanical device where a motor steps around and operates electrical contacts via cams, at the selected time in the wash cycle to cause different functions to occur e.g. operate water solenoids to fill washer, operate main motor to agitate, drain pump operated, operate main motor to spin etc. You can view the electrical circuit for the timer in the Wiring Diagrams for the washer in the parts diagram link above. The timer circuit is shown in the block on the left side of the wiring diagram. You will see all the contacts and the cams that are necessary for the operation of the washer. Unfortunately if a contact or cam has worn it is hard to replace as there are no internal component parts available for the timer and the whole timer has to be replaced.
