I know this is an old post but I am having the same problem and I just got off the phone with Sears, they asked me WHICH valve I needed they said there was a single inlet valve and a 3 way inlet valve….which one would I need with this problem?
Tammy if it continues to fill when the washer is not in use, you will need to replace the water inlet valve. The Whirlpool (the real maker of this washer)part number for that should be 8181694. If you can provide us with the 110.XXXXXXX of your washer, we can further clarify this. Not sure what the people at Sears are even referring to.
