O.k. So I recently was given a iPod touch 2G to fix. The digitizer was cracked and the housing was pretty beat up. The volume rocker worked fine before taking it apart. I stripped the iPod down keeping mind of all the delicate ribbons expecially the volume ribbon. After putting it all back together everything worked great EXCEPT for the “volume down” control on the rocker. I got a new cable annd replaced it but still no luck. I’m sure I didn’t rip or short the motherboad, so I don’t understand what the problem is. Can you help me with my problem?? Thanks.

Joey, Under the logic board the ribbons that connect together with a small snap plug. Did you carefully insert the ribbon all the way and snap the clip down? Try re-seating the ribbon in the plug. If all of the remaining cables are unharmed it should work.
