I have a Vizio E390-A1. It started not turning on. After googling, I found out about the power cycle technique. That worked for about 4 months. Then it started requiring several attempts at power cycling before the tv would turn on. Finally, no amount of power cycling helped. The white power light was bright, but the tv would not come on. I replaced the power board. The tv immediately came on. We watched it for awhile, then turned it off. Next time, it would not come on, and no amount of power cycling helped. Same thing … bright white light, but no picture or sound, nothing. Is the new power board dead? Should I replace both the power board and the main board? Help? Thanks!

This sounds more like main board problem. With the extended down time to change the power supply, the main board “recovered” somewhat. With the white light, it sounds like the main board is telling the panel to be all white. Same goes for the power board. In reality when you hit the power button you are telling the main board to turn on the TV. Replace the main board and that should resolve the problem. Dan
