Model Number: E701I-A3B TV worked yesterday, I turned it off and went to bed. Today, I turned it on and there is sound and no picture. I have tried pressing menu, “V”, and input buttons with no visual response. Even the flashlight check didn’t show any pictures on screen.. is there anyway to get my picture back? Lady with Vizio says it’s a big old piece of scrap and to buy a new one but I feel like it could fixed easily and inexpensively (relative to buying a whole new 70" set)
If you haven’t already, remove the power cord for 60 seconds. I have had a few times on my 2016 Vizio where it would “not turn on” but then again it never really turns “off” just the screen is off as it updates apps at all hours of the night… akin to a Windows PC being stuck in sleep more or a PS4 being in Rest mode. Anyway, remove power for 60 seconds and re-apply. It’s worth a shot. Is this from 2013? Unfortunately it is true that repairing a 5 year old TV is just about the same cost as buying a new one if you have to hire to have someone replace parts until it is fixed. I am not a TV expert but it sounds like it could be the power supply or the board inside the TV. Here is a good video on troubleshooting if you have the proper tools and skills: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYUjXbOc… You can get an “M” series 70" for $900 which is one under the top P series. You can get a D series which has more features and 4k etc. for less than you paid for your current set. Then again even if you guess and buy a new power supply and mainboard and just replace stuff you might come in at half the cost of a new set if you don’t have to pay someone to do it for you.
