I purchased a used iPhone 5 with the vibrate function not working. I’m pretty experienced with iphone repair but this is giving me fits. It vibrated once when I first got it but I decided to replace the vibrator motor as I couldn’t get it to do it again. I checked the settings to make sure they were on, restored the phone and confirmed the settings had it on vibrate and still nothing. After replacing the vibrator motor it still would not work so I took the phone back apart and checked the connections to the power/volume flex cable and prior to clipping the screen in I powered it up and it vibrated perfect several times so I powered the phone down, put the phone back together and now it won’t work. It doesn’t seem like the screen would be binding up the vibrator motor but I guess it’s possible? Everything else on the power/volume flex cable works as it should so I’m reluctant to replace that cable as it’s a pain in the butt but I’m running out of options here. Anyone experienced an issue like this and have any insight like it being a grounding issue from the screen or anything? Thanks in advance.
I no the replacing the cable is a pain but Atleast you would no it’s a problem with the moterboard if you changed the flex and it still didn’t work.. I would say it’s a power flex cable mate.. Replace it and u will no Update Glad it’s sorted mate may be you could give a detailed fix of what you done .. Could b very helpful to sum1
