The truck will shift through all forward gears just fine without any trouble, but when I put it into reverse I have to give it probably around 3000 rpm to move at all. Trans needs serviced bad. Just wondering if that’s my issue or if I have something more to worry about. 1992 Chevy c1500 5.7L automatic 4x2.
If your trans needs a service bad, it might be failing. I’m not sure how many miles you have and how you maintain the car, but by the sound of it, it might be slipping in reverse, so you would need to get a new trans, or get your old one rebuilt. Both are expensive unless you can find one in a junkyard for a good price.
