My Dell S2417dg PC monitor works fine for a while and then vertical red lines appear on the right half of the screen. The lines are almost invisible when something is displayed, but can be seen in dark/black areas. The lines sometimes disappear if I flex the screen, but not always. The problem is definitely not software related or a problem with the gpu because it persists even when just the power cable is connected. I managed to open the screen and made sure that all the cables inside are secured. I also connected it to my PC while open, and it is fine for a while and then the red lines appear. I noticed that putting pressure on the pcb fixes the lines temporarily. Is there anything I can do to fix it permanently? Any ideas are much appreciated.

@pietsnyman post some pictures of what this all looks like, with your QUESTION. Vertical lines can be TAB errors. That is where the connection between the small ribbon cables that enter the LCD, comes loose. If it is a TAB error there is not much you can do. Sometimes a adding a strip of a good clothes adhesive tape tightly pulled over the TAB works temporarily. Adding images to an existing question
