I was using my laptop computer and suddenly the screen was full of vertical green and pink lines. Green in the black background, and pink in the white background. There is also a horizontal line on top of the screen where the colors are completely normal. I tried pressing the top corners and bottom corners of the screen, and I also tried fasting the cable which connects the screen to the motherboard, but it didn’t work. Another thing that I noticed is that in the rear part of the screen, there are little black dots. I tried updating the BIOS and the video drivers, and nothing. I also try connecting the laptop with an external LCD monitor, and the image is fine! But the laptop’s screen is not. I’d like to be sure that I have to buy a new screen, and desde Problem is not another like the motherboard or the APU.
Thank you so much!!
Hi, What is the make and model number of the laptop? Try moving the lid slowly back and forth a few times or pressing on the hinge where the video cable passes through and check if doing this affects the display at all. If it does then the video cable may be damaged where it passes through the hinge from the display to the motherboard If an external monitor’s display is OK and if you checked that the video cable is connected securely at both ends and the laptop’s display doesn’t change when trying the above checks, then most probably it is a display panel problem. Try sourcing a replacement panel from a supplier that accepts returns for only a small restocking fee so as to minimize the cost to you if it is not the problem
