Two days ago I spilt some tea on my computer and it was only a small amount. I wiped it down but didn’t turn it off as everything was working fine for a while however 5 hours later the right side of my screen had a vertical glitch. I turned it off right after seeing the glitch and then the next day it was still there but everything else was working. I’m keeping it off for now and I spoke with Apple and they told me to go to the store but I’m worried they will charge me a very high price (I’m a student and times are a bit tough right now) And the store doesn’t open till Tuesday. What could be the problem and if you have any recommendations on how I could fix this myself that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
There might be some water inside/on the cable that connects the system to the display. If you have the tools you would need available, such as an iFixit Toolkit, I would urge you to open up the device and follow the steps as you would preform a screen replacement. Instead of replacing the screen, you would be trying to clean any corrosion on the display connector with 90% alcohol and a toothbrush.
