Hello, our Samsung plasma (PS64D8000FS) has a vertical 4-inch stripe at the left edge of the screen which can be mostly white or black with some thin flickering colorful lines (please see the photos).
@timblim could be the left x-board has failed as well as a panel failure. you will have to take a look at the board to see if you have obviously damaged components on it.
