Hi everyone. Anybody explain me plz what is VCC main short?? I always think, if i connect the iphone motherboard with DCPS, and phone abosorb current without poweon its vcc main? is it true? I know, i can verify also with multimeter on any capicitor on VCC Main rail. But i would like to clear this concepet for my general knowledge. Any iphone, who doesnt power on and absord current after connect to DCPS is it VCC main short? Thanks a lot.
If your DCPS shows that you have any type of current this normally means that you have a short but not always a VCC_Main short. It will also depend on what current is being drawn in whether you have a dead short or partial short. If you have your DCPS set at 2 amps and you plug in the phone and 2 amps comes up then you have a dead short. next step it to determine what line its on USING your multimeter. Once you have determined this then you can follow this line using schematics or board view program like ZXW.
