Chosen Solution
Recently, I dropped a few drops of water around the power key of my laptop. It did not show any issues then, but after shutting it down, it did not boot up. It shows as charging if plugged in though. Taking it to folks at geekbench resulted in a temporary solution where hard rebooting with battery removed (and power attached) leads to the laptop turning on. Now the laptop needs to hard booted that way or else it wont boot up. Any suggestions what might have gone wrong
@pscoe2 possible that the battery is shortening it out. Replace the battery first. If that does not work you have a short circuit on the charging circuitry. You will need the schematics for your motherboard as well as the board view for it to a. check on it and b. possibly repair it if you have knowledge and tools for board level repairs.
