So I want to use my 2009 mac as an external display. i found the panel to be LM240WU2-SLB2. and i bought this board https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32973681…. When i connect the panel to the board I get a green light suggesting it is getting signal but the display is black. I am thinking that is because the board kit doesnt include inverter. Thing is I am not sure if this requires an inverter as according to panellook.com it says it is with inverter. http://www.panelook.com/LM240WU2-SLB2_LG… So my question is: Do I need an inverter for this panel? And if I need an inverter I am not sure which inverter to get. pls suggest. thanks. Update (02/14/2020) I’ve looked at this post but none of the links posted in the answer work Can I Mod an early 2009 24" iMac to external monitor? And some other sellers of the board have this weird contraption which they are not selling along with the board and I am not sure what it is. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/40002754

@sidshekar your monitor uses CCFL backlights. Yes, you do need an inverter and the kits you are linking to in your question, do not show that you are having an inverter connected. Here is the data sheet which list the inverter properties on page 7 LM240WU-SLB2_1 Data Sheet Take a look on here Universal Backlight Inverter to see how to connect an inverter to the CCFL. Post some good pictures of how you have your kit( instead of stock pictures) set up.
