I bought an OWC Envoy bus powered enclosure for my 2012 MacBook Air SSD. Installed it correctly, but when I plug it into my 2020 MacBook Air through the USB to USB-C adapter, the power light does not even come one. When I plug it into my cell phone with the same adapter, the light comes on and it is recognized to be reformatted. Why is my laptop not even powering on the device? Both systems have Catalina.
As your MacBook Air is so new you’ll need to get it serviced under warranty. You might what to check if another MacBook Pro is able to see the drive.
