Will the recovery CD’s work on a new installed SSD in my ACER Iconia w500? And does the recovery create a boot record?

Ernest Gibson, there is no reason why it shouldn’t. The recovery process does not care which drive it will be installed to, as long as it recognizes that it is an Acer computer.
