My Macbook’s USB ports are pretty fried. One works but it only works with my external harddrives, wifi dongle, and printer if I fiddle around with the cable. Never works with my USB flash drives. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I’ve already tried resetting the PRAM and SMC.
Have you booted your machine into Apple Hardware Test (AHT) mode? This will run a diagnostics test on your hardware (about how it sounds like it would from the name) and notify you of any errors. You can find out exactly how to do this for your machine here.
