I have Kingston DT101 G2 16GB and one day I plugged it in and it was almost unresponsive, it showed windows explorer is not responding when I try to do something. When I plug it in my TV it detects it but files are like :)D# and things like that. And it heats up when plugged in. I opened it and it seems fine, but its like 3? years old.

Looks fine from inside, for me.

@latvian_video could be a problem with the mass storage controller or the flash memory chip itself. At this time I would suggest that you do not use it. Schematics are not readily available so for now repair maybe impossible. Of course, you do want to disassemble it and take a look around for some obviously damaged components or loose connections etc. Post some images of what you find so we can see what you see.
