Just tried to ask this question before but it hasn’t shown up on the forum. Replaced RAM last year with the ifixit guide. All went well but just tried to use usb c for the first time - no power. Have I unplugged something to cause this? what’s the steps to remedy. Yes ive turned it of and unplugged to reboot the SMC thing. Update (10/21/2021) Sorry its a Mac Intel 2019. The USB ports have power, never lost it.The USB C ports have no power. I do not know if they’ve never had power or if they lost it during the process of me sticking more ram in. I had never plugged anything into them until a couple days ago. The SD card reader works. Have not use the square port on the right. Cheers!

I would start off running the onboard diagnostics. Restart your system and press the D key, did you get any errors? Reference: Mac startup key combinations Update (10/22/2021) OK, So only the Thunderbolt ports (USB-C connections) don’t appear to have power. I would make sure using a USB-C power meter like USB-C Power Meter If you’ve already done that the ports power logic is a small chip (Intel JHL6540 Thunderbolt 3 controller) just above the ports on the logic board did you have a problem taking the logic board out?
I had a friend with a similar problem and I think it’s a known problem for Apple so I’d contact them and ask them about a repair - I hope it’s still under warranty. My friend only discovered the problem just after the end of the first year of ownership and Apple fixed it for him for free. Good luck
