Hi everyone! I exhanged the shattered panel with the guide on this site and it went pretty well. The Ipad seems to work well except for one thing. The glued strips that came with the new panel don’t hold very well and I already ordered new strips. But what’s really irritating is that the upper left corner is unresponsive most of the time. I have to press down on the lower right corner that won’t stay in properly to make it work. Any ideas what is going on? Should I be concerned? Or will this go away once the panel is glued in properly?
It could be a defective panel or the connector isn’t seated properly or it could have been damaged. You can inspect them when you replace the screen adhesive. Pro tip: use acetone and Q-tips to remove the old adhesive from the metal frame of the iPad ( not the screen!) for better adhesion. Make sure you do it in a ventilated area or have a fan nearby as you can get a little light headed. Soak the Q-tip in acetone, don’t apply acetone directly to the frame and be careful around plastic parts. Also use some heat and either some weight or clamps to adhere the screen.
